“Come on Felix; don’t make it so hard for me.” She said looking at me with pleading eyes.
I unfolded my lips then kissed her back, just then there was a knock at the door.
Betty then slowly raised her head off my shoulder, looked me in the eyes and went for my lips.
I got mixed feelings, Betty was my ex-girlfriend but the new version of her was really winning my heart. I found myself kissing her back. I could feel her soft palms on my chest. I lifted her and placed her on the kitchen’s lower cabinet. She slowly removed my vest and I unbuttoned the shirt she was wearing.
I had already removed the shirt when memories we shared with Anne crossed my mind. I stopped kissing her then wore back my vest.
“Am sorry Betty, I can’t do it.” I said.
“But why Felix? Did I offend you?” She asked.
“No, just that it is not right. You are not my girl.” I replied.
“It’s okay Felix, I understand.” She said.
“Good, I will go sleep now, tomorrow is a workday. When you get sleepy, there is a guestroom opposite my room; it has everything you need, goodnight Betty.” I said.
“Goodnight too Felix.” She replied.
I left her in the kitchen and went to my room. I lay on the bed and started thinking. A part of me wanted Betty back but the other part was against it, I didn’t know which part to follow. The following day I woke up early, I wanted to go to work before Betty. I decided to make her breakfast but when I got to the kitchen, I found a note.
“Am sorry about yesterday Felix, what I did was wrong kindly forgive me. Breakfast is on the table.” The note read.
I ate the breakfast and got ready for work. When I got to the office, Betty pretended not to have seen me the night before, she really had reformed. I had never seen her pretend before; I greeted her and went to my office.
Later on in the day, Ritah passed by. She was in company of her driver, Zac. Zac was left outside to wait for Ritah as we discussed business with Ritah in my office. I was shocked to find out that Zac and Betty knew each other. This was the first time I had seen them meet since the day I met Zac. I pretended not to have noticed them and we walked past them.
Zac had to leave Betty since I was walking his boss to the car. Ritah and Zac drove off; I went back to my office to finish up some files. In the evening I decided to go for a dinner in a hotel. I made a dinner reservation and since I intended to stay up late, I made a room reservation as well.
I met an old friend at the hotel, I bought him dinner then after dinner we went to play golf in the hotel’s golf court. We played golf till half past midnight then we decided to retire to bed. I went to the reception, got my room key and went to my room. I had barely got into bed when I heard noises in the next room.
A lady was groaning and having really heavy breathes. I tuned on some soft music in my iPod and wore my earphones. The hotel had a gym, early in the morning I decided to go for a morning exercise. I worked out for an hour then went back to my room to get ready for work. While I was in the shower, I heard the noisemakers next door talk, this time loud enough for me to hear
